CS:GO Review
TLDR: Still one of the best competitive online FPS(First person shooter) game out as of posting this. Although this game can be played casually, I feel it's made to be played competitively. If playing ranked get a mic. Counter-Strike at its core is a team game, if you don’t like playing with others I don’t recommend this game. It also has different game modes like Surfing, Bhoping, Climbing and Hide and seek. These can be found in the community servers.

Although Counter-Strike has had a few "expansions" going from CS to Condition Zero, counter-strike(source) and finally cs:go. The core game hasn't changed at all. There is two sides, counter-terrorists and terrorists. The team playing as terrorists will attempt to plant a bomb in one of two locations on the map that is being played on. It’s the counter-terrorists job to defend these locations from the terrorists. If the bomb is planted, the counter-terrorists have (40secs in Competitive play) to defuse the bomb.

Players are rewarded cash for killing enemy players and/or defusing/planting the bomb. Friendly fire is on in Competitive play and most casual games. Killing your teammates will result in a loss of money and if you kill too many you’ll be kicked from the server.

The money that you receive can be used at the start of every round, the menu can be reached by hitting (b). The menu can be a bit confusing at first, but you soon learn that there are only a few good weapons to choose from. Here’s a starter list,
Pistols: Five-SeveN is a very “noob” friendly weapon as it has a 20-round magazine and forgiving recoil. You can only buy this on CT side

The CZ75-Auto is fully automatic but has very little ammo, strong trigger discipline is required. Tapping a few shots at a time at medium to long range can work but this weapon is best at short range. You can only buy this on CT side.

The P250 is a good all-around weapon.

The Desert Eagle is very accurate at long range but has a big kick. The best way to use this weapon is to aim for the head and only fire once, if you miss wait for the recoil before you fire again.

Don’t bother buying a pistol if you’re winning unless you’re going to hit the 16k money cap, or if you’re using an AWP. Also don’t buy a pistol on the starting round of a game, it’s much better to just buy Kevlar.

SMGs: really most of the SMGs work, MAC-10(T) really good if the enemy doesn’t have helmet armor but still works if they do and because it’s so cheap you can make a lot of money if you get a few kills with it.

The PP-Bizon is ONLY good if the enemy doesn’t have helmet armor. You might be thinking, well how do I know if they’re going to have helmet armor? You’ll learn pretty fast how the economy works. Both sides get money at the end of the round, the winning side gets more.

One loss = $1400, 2 = $1900, 3 $2400, 4 = $2900, 5 = $3400 which is the max you can get. If you lose 6 rounds in a row, your team will get $3400.

So, buying (Kevlar Vest) is $650, (Kevlar + Helmet) is $1000. Just from playing the game enough you start to memorize around how much money the enemy team will have. Let’s say it’s round 3, everyone bought rifles and your team won the round. Round 4 the enemy team will be pretty broke aka a (save round), most players will not get armor so they can afford a cheap weapon for that round and still have enough money to buy a rifle and armor for following round.

Rifles: M4A4(CT) all-around good choose, AUG(CT) if you like a scope and the more “tap tap tap” firing playstyle.
FAMAS(CT) if you don’t have enough money for the other two.

AK-47 (T) all-around good choose.

SG 553(T) if you like a scope and the more “tap tap tap” firing playstyle.

Galil AR(T) if you don’t have enough money for the other two.

AWP scoped one shot one kill weapon, unless you hit them in the foot/hand. Don’t try to fire this while not scoped as it is very inaccurate and has no crosshair to assist with aiming. If you miss with this weapon, you’re probably dead because it’s slow to reload and you’re slow while holding it. Also this weapon is expensive ($4750)

the SSG 08 is the cheaper version of the AWP, it takes two body shots but is much faster to run around with and can be fired with 100% accuracy un-scoped and even in the air.

Heavy: MAG-7(CT) Sawed-Off(T) The mag and sawed-off have very similar playstyles, up close and personal. Choose these weapons on losing rounds, don’t bother with head armor enless you can afford it.

Counter-Strike at its core is a team game, if you don’t like playing with others I don’t recommend this game. Having a microphone is a must if you’re going to play ranked. I can’t stand having a teammate I can’t communicate with. Things happen very fast in this game, you don’t have time to type.

Memorizing the menu or even hotkeying your favorite weapons will help a lot as you only get (15secs in ranked) at the start of every round. There are key spawns within the spawning location for T and CT for getting to certain locations within the map the fastest. This is very important for the terrorists as getting to these locations quickly can set you up for easy kills as the counter-terrorists don't have time to “settle in”. Basically, if you spawn close to bomb site A or B you can rush that side before the CTs have time to get settled in.

Side notes: If you don’t like shooting other players, there are a few other things you can do on different servers setup for it like.
1. Surfing
2. Bhoping
3. Climbing
4. Hide and seek
These can be found in the community servers, I really enjoy surfing myself and some pros say it helps with aiming.
