Love it!

Still the best RPG known to man.

A latter-day Escape Velocity. Just as good if not better (because it's current!) as the old 90s game. What a wonderful trip through my childhood -- this game built a lot of my early sci-fi game method experience, and is still just as enjoyable in 2023 as it was in the 90s.

This game already died once. It's sadistic to resurrect a title JUST to f***ing murder it again like this.

You don't support your modding community. You don't care about releasing content for use by the community without money. You did a good job deceiving everyone.

With the advent of mods, AND the fact modding a game is OPTIONAL, games were able to be adjusted to add features. When Bethesda banned the pro-noun removal mod, they demonstrated the ability to use a public platform to push a message which may not be widely accepted.

As such, let me give my REAL assessment of this game:
If this was 25 years in the making, this is another excuse for the money-gouging business which this decade of releases has been -- game is over-priced, under-delivered content. Most Sci-Fi games offer this, but then offer emmersive MULTIPLAYER!

SAVE YOUR $70

Okay -- it's in Early Release, but this is the most stable Early Release I've played yet. DAMN I can see the hours growing -- when that TANK rolled up because a commander saw I needed help, and I could PILOT IT -- I was hooked.

I've been waiting for this to go 1.0 for 20 years....Finally. It finally launched. <3 <3

People are forgetting this is an Early Access game, and for what it is -- the potential for player-created EVERYTHING reaches far deeper than the completely-player-run economy of EVE Online.

Here: Players, and player groups will decide governments.

Players have access to a CAD-level (Blender??) ship design tool.

Players have and continue to craft the future of the game's end-game meta designs---but---a meta CONSTANTLY in flux because players will always discover elements of balance and change their OWN designs to conquer.

Sci-Fi fleet strategies are now HYPER-realistic -- your fleet composition isn't a set Ship Design where you simply fill in only parts & weapons--your design can be ANYTHING--and change.
