CS:GO Review
Despite their efforts since source to make matchmaking cleaner, the VAC system and overall their anti-cheat is just too impregnable and with dozens of different scripts and codes available to the public, cheating is too easy and there are nowhere near enough reports to contain it.
In order to have a much smoother experience, you either have to grind for months on matchmaking in either competitive or wingman, but Valve limits you to 2 unranked non-prime competitive matches per day, and hitting this cap will make the cooldown also apply to wingman, which in my experience has no limit but only provides 70exp, (although per match based on rounds won), thereabouts, with up to 140exp in casual. The grind is slow paced and monotonous. The alternative is paying what used to be inclusive to the original game prior to going free access, better match making in cahoots with the trust factor system, and access to far more competitive play. Now hackers can make free steam accounts, get free copies of csgo, and if they want, pay 15 bucks for prime w/o the grind, thus decreasing their chances of getting caught easily, and increasing their numbers 10 fold. I'd argue the game was better when it fully costed 20 bucks for it's cleaner system and inclusiveness, as someone who has played the game since before 2015 for years, I am disappointed with the status of the game. Their Overwattch system is based on trust factor, competitive ranking, and the likes, and yet there is no incentive or reward for participating if you're lucky enough to get selected, all you get is about 140exp per match viewed and review completed and it allows you to do your duty and keep the game safe from just a single player at a time, which now can easily be replaced. I like the requirements to getting Overwatch access but I believe there are ways of better handling it so that more legit players can be able to utilize it. People on the community forums, in-game and everywhere else have been talking about a reward system being put in place to get more players to work for Overwatch and use it, that way you actually get something desirable instead of a small fraction of pointless and pitiful exp. For example, let's say a new case drops, players would have a small chance to get up to purple and pink items, a rare chance for blues, and a more common chance of getting commons from that case with of course a .01 - .001 of covert or legendary even. As ridiculous and incredulous as that may sound, think of the benefits of incentives. For a game studio that runs the entire platform, you'd expect a lot more of a barebones game such as CSGO, with a 3 case and 1 item from (possible) rate per week, you would expect more from a game this populated and this old. At least I would. So beware. While this game is really fun to play with a squad full of friends in competitive, overall the community is too diluted with toxicity, cheating, and overall bad matchmaking in general. It most likely won't be a smooth experience. Keep your wallets away.
