Hotline Miami is fun.

Fun.

Fun, and frustrating.

One thing is for sure though, that with all that frustration comes the reward of feeling as if a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. The weight isn't one you necessarily hate though. It's the weight that you know is making you stronger, and you enjoy the daily burn of marching around with it, but once you get past that weight, you feel accomplished yet left empty inside.

Those are my exact thoughts for a game like Hotline Miami. With each passing level I found myself more interested in what was going on. I'm not referring to the brutal murders I was comitting; I'm talking about everything. The circa 1980's setting is fantastic and colorful, the soundtrack is a masterpiece, and the gameplay is fast/addictive. You're not sure why you're killing everyone at first, or why you're getting strange calls. I felt I was sure that I liked where it was going, and I wasn't wrong.

This a game worth anyone's time, especially if they're a fan of older games from the NES era to the SNES era. You won't want to miss out on the fast, brutal action of Hotline MIami.
