3 is (well it is now) a prequel or prolouge to the PSO seris 1 is somthing unto itself. 2 and four share the same story arc. i can still play them i dont think theyre that bad

Phantasy star 4 was my favorite game when I was a kid. Never played 1-3 though, I tried a few years ago but it was just too old.

if you wanna play a game like this get a sega emulator and check out the phantasy star series. my favorite is 3
