Nuclear Throne is a top-down shooter made by Vlambeer, where a group of mutants go through the wasteland in a planet full of radiation and other mutants that want to kill you, and the police of another dimension chase you aswell, and your plain goal is to reach the Nuclear Throne. Fish can Roll.

The gameplay is simplistic, it's sort of a bullet hell, having a low amount of HP and enemies attacking you from every direction. Some enemies charge at you, other attack you from a distance, others spew fire and others blow up. The game is separeted in 8 areas, having 4 areas with 3 levels in a row and other 4 with 1 level, and each of them having a respective secret are and 2 areas having a special Crown Vault with modifiers for your playthrough. The mutants are each specially made for a special type of player. Fish is mobile and gets a lot of ammo, Crystal is a Tank, Melting is a Glass Cannon, Steroids is a ammo-hose, Rebel is a summoner, and Rogue is hard-mode. They're all built for different players and different playstyles. Each character has a special passive and a special active (right click) and there are 2 secret characters and 1 of them isn't available from the start. Also, if you're playing Y.V., pressing B will give you a golden version of your current gun. Also, fish can roll.

The game has very simplistic controls, WASD and shooting with left click. That's it. The graphics is classic and beautiful pixel-art. The music is very atmospheric (I love Y.V.s Mansion's theme) and puts you in the place of the mutant you're playing. The game has a special seed for each day to compete agaisnt other players and a special seed with restricted starting character and crowns. Press right click as fish to roll.

The bosses are unique and have a "charm" to their areas. For example, the wasteland boss is a bigger and more powerful bandit with a machinegun. The wasteland boss is a giant 3-headed pitbull mutated dog. The game has a leveling system where you collect radiation to get mutations, and after 8 mutations you get a specific "Ultra" mutation for you character.
The game also encourages ammo management, as it is a issue on the wasteland. Rolling can be done as fish.

After the game is beaten (you reach the Nuclear Throne and things happen) you can do something special at the final boss to "loop" the game, where you can beat the game again, but a lot harder and with 3 special new bosses and police going after you like crazy. This is great for highscorers, since the game has no end and you get a very high score depending on your skill. All in all, great game and should definately be played. It has launched some time ago after 2 years of early access and still gets lots of updates. Fish can roll.
