i only downloaded this because hl2 mmod required me to do so

I've always been obsessed with the idea of playing from the perspective of the game protagaonist's enemy: I've looked in every corner of the internet for a mod where I could play as a Combine Soldier or a CP unit and I remember loving Human Error to death. And now, here's this mod.

I've had fun while playing it but there were also things that were bothering me. Namely, I didn't like that my character would speak because that ruins the immersion and tradition of Half-Life's mute characters that helped out to build an immersive game. (FYI, Gordon Freeman isn't mute, we just don't hear his voice because he is supposed to be saying what we're thinking inside of our heads.)

[SPOILERS FROM HERE TO ON]

I've also had been frustrated with how the nightvision went out in that one map and the way how it went out - how can nightvision be possibly depleted by getting an electro shock? The worst part about this was how the level carried on. The Stalker that the player would have to escort is completely defenseless from the zombies, headcrabs and barnacles around the map. Now, while it does sound good on paper, it's terribly executed. The zombies and headcrabs 90% of the time attack the Stalker from behind where he couldn't cast light so I had constantly saved whenever the Stalker would make some progress.

The vortigaunts were also very frustrating to play against. I wish that the team behind this mod would make vortigaunts more identical to their Half-Life 1 counterparts where they'd take more time to charge up their attack rather than almost instantly attacking and killing me.

The story wasn't really the best, but it was good for the most part. I wish the campaign was a little bit longer though.

Anyway, this is a mod that I'd highly recommend to everyone. I'm giving this mod a 9/10.
