Obviously I was aware of that ;-)
The lack of custom key bindings* solely, is unforgivable for a modern tetris pc game. The current hardcoded keys are completely unintuitive for an experienced player. Therefore I already requested a refund for this game. (Not to mention some other minor irritable things about the game).
So I don't own TU anymore and I can't check the suggested solutions for the crashes anymore.
Given the fact that my point about the controls is completely ignored, I assume this won't or can't be fixed in future patches. Sadly, I can only conclude that you've lost me as a potential player (and customer).
*Using AutoHotkey is not a desirable workaround.
I'm sorry to hear about the issue's you've had with crashes. Have you tried running both Steam and Uplay as an administrator and verifying the integrity of the game cache in Steam? If that fails, please reach out to our Ubisoft Support team at https://support.ubi.com so our team can help you out with your crashing issue.
I always skip games with hardcoded keys.
