Yes indeed: When developers weren't disconnected corporate suits with a thousand and one investors demanding that each new game be released faster than the last.

Unfortunately, Id software proceeded to shit the bed on Quake 2 and 3 on that front.

Ofcourse.... I support and buy many different titles from many different (sometimes new) developers.... Mainly indie or just games that looked interesting like independent RPG/FPS games etc. It's just a shame that many games that are hidden gems today are being overlooked because they don't have as much publicity as a so called "Triple A" title coming from some big named company. It's as if they work more on presentation rather than delivering a complete product. It's just a shame in my opinion that's all.

Alrighty. So you DO know that.

I just don't like it when people think that all game publishers are like those two...

The problem is why are these companies standard? Do they supply anything new or interesting? Not really... They recycle ideas and add a 60$ price tag to them.... I still have faith in many younger/independent developers... Even some indie developers supply AMAZING games today but arent as known as bigger titles therefore they don't get the right amount of backing for their wonderful projects... It just angers me seeing game developers try to squeeze more and more money out of us consumers without providing us the full product on release (With day 1 DLC's or "Late game content" as such). That's my main rant basically.

V WAT

Why are there still people who see the 2 best selling yet only mediocre in quality companies as standard?
They fucking are not.
The majority of publishers still do it right, they just aren't shoved right into your face like EA and Ubisoft.

Indeed... But the REAL focus now a days is to mainly supply multiplayer or deliver loads of DLC's that should have been part of the game in the first place. I liked the idea back then when you packaged a game to it's complete content. No DLC'S one day post-release etc..... I just thought that it used to be nicer when the focus was mainly on providing a complete and finished singleplayer product that was finished and complete on it's release.....

Some still do

Time here doesnt represent how long i've played the game in reality, there are different ways to play it. In example my PC copy of GTA:SA only has around 3 hours, when infact i've easily played hundereds on my PS2. None the less. I agree, sometimes people get lazy and don't finish their games though, we're all guilty of it XD
