While nowhere as long as the main game, The Second Fleet serves as a "7th Chapter" to the standard Invasion Campaign. There are no cutscenes (which might be a good thing), but the basic premise is that with 4th Reich Commanders dead, the remaining Nazi Loyalists throw every remaining ship at Earth in a final suicidal push for victory. The gameplay remains the same as before, with the exception that all playable ships are reduced to basic non-upgraded status. The good news is that all ships playable in the standard campaign are available right out of the gate (Bonzai, Canadarm, Dundee, Spitfire, & Xerg), just head over to the appropriate station and hop in your favorite. Also, salvage is worth anywhere from 2 to 4x as much as before, making it easy to upgrade several ships quickly. Finally, all non-playable Earth forces (G.W. Bush, Katar, Mir Station) can now all be commanded to intercept enemy groups of your choosing. Being as short as it is, I don't know if it's worth $2.99, but if you enjoyed the base game and can catch it on sale, then it's worth playing.
