is it possible to make the marker in the north a little bit longer?
it's easy to get lost
Place a landmark directly after applying the heightmap.
Pro tip:
Modify the north marker e.g. and save island.
In your new island folder copy the file '..._HEIGHT.map" to the 'editor\heightmaps' folder and rename it to 'yournewmap.raw'.
You have made your own heightmap! :-D

Unfortunately it's not possible to place anything in the red bounds.

Would be nice if the Editor would have some rulers or guidelines, or... :-)
You could prepare the heightmaps in Photoshop or similar programs which are capeable of editing 16bit raw files.
