Herzog Zwei is one of my favorite games of all time so, when I finally got the gameplay video to record for #RetroFriday, I giggled like a little school girl! Here's the #RetroFriday video:

They never got to make a sequel, as was the original plan. Total Annihilation was the closest thing until AirMech came out. AirMech is FREE.. You should play it!

Herzog Zwei was way ahead of it's time. It took the RTS genre and introduced gameplay mechanics that made it more action-oriented and less about micromanagement. The fact that you could issue orders to units was brilliant on it's own. Even today I get a kick out of watching my units run around on their own. It's strangely satisfying.

Have any of you guys played this before? It's one of my most-played games on the SEGA Genesis. The PvP provided hours of fun.. And gamepad throwing. =oP
