It is bit too sensitive though (sprinting too easily, lack of fine movements), so its easy to run into walls& big objects and get a blackscreen.
Big props up to the ZNix, after some finetuning this will be the bomb!
Either I could increase the deadzone, or make it that you click to move and putting your thumb 75% of the way to the edge activates sprint.

Is it possible to implement?
Yes, it most certainly is. File an issue on the bugtracker and I'll get around to it (you can use your Google account to log in, if you want to).
(One) Click for sprint would make sense and would be my preference. Maybe with it included, would be also good to have bit of a deadzone close to the trackpad center.
Sort of a hybrid solution then, which could be best of both worlds. I think Onward and Pavlov have it a bit like this, which people like a lot.

I think he means the Touchpad.
Just tried out the mod. Works better than that teleport locomotion. It feels a bit jittery when moving, I don't know if that's just me.
