[Tips] Ubersaw or Amputator?
I was just wondering if I should use the Ubersaw instead of the Amputator. My loadout is the Blutsauger, Botkiller Medigun, and the Amputator. I use the Amputator to balance out the health regen decresed by the Blutsauger, and I use my primary more than my melee for combat. But a lot of people uses the Ubersaw, and the UberSaw is a very powerful wepaon. Can someone help me decide? Thx.

Depends on your medigun, at least to me. Hard ubers that have a long charge, like the medigun and kritz, get the ubersaw, and ubers like the vac and quick fix, get the amputator. Also, the amputator must be the active weapon to add the health regen, so it won't help much if you're shooting the blut at the moment. Hope I was helpful.

For me too. I use the Ubersaw on Medigun/Kritzkrieg but for QuickFix/Vaccinator I use Solem Vow at the moment.

I used the Amputater more when it still had the increased health regen set bonus with the crossbow until Valve splited the set. Now I rarely use it, I rely on my standard health regen ^^ (not using Blutsauger).

But with the Blutsauger it's a good combination like you already do.

After they removed the item set bonuses, i never bothered to touch the amputator again. I guess your choice of saw should be based on your playstyle. Since i play aggressively, the ubersaw is always in my melee slot. If you want to play passively, sure, this weapon gives you extra surivalbility, but you'll be significantly weaker in combat. On the plus side though, the ability to negate afterburn does seem like a nice perk.

Use the Bonesaw. Its quick swing can quickly take down enemies such as, Scouts that pass by.

All the weapon bonuses were divided and put into the weapons.

Yeah, but you need to have the weapon ACTIVE to use them. And i really dislike wasting my time regenerating while i could be building ubercharge and healing my teammates. Also, the amputator deals less damage now, it takes 3 saws to kill a low-health class such as the scout.

but if i do not use the melee as much, should I use a weapon like the Solem Vow?

Solem Vow has the passive option to see enemy health, which sure is good when you use your primary more often. Try it! ^^

The Amputator's increased health regeneration effect applies upon it being the active weapon, if you don't really use melee and use your primary more then you don't benefit from the bonus in reality.

The Solemn Vow is a direct upgrade from the standard bSaw. Allowing you to see enemy health, and letting you chose your battles more often. It's fairly nice with Medics who use primary more often.

bSaw is default. Hooray. Without seeing enemy health you might take bigger risks than if you had that Hippocrates Bust. It's a much more aggressive weapon.

uSaw rewards the gutsiest of Medics greatly with a less than advantageous spot in combat.

vSaw is meh.

And Amputator is good for running away, on fire or something. The taunt isn't too reliable though.

I use uSaw but only because I play by switching weapons every shot I take with the crossbow. Pretend I am going to close in the distance after shooting it, jump away, shoot him again and if he gets too close slap him with the saw.

Medic Is All About Being the Teamplayer, The Biggest Contributer. The Ubersaw While Very Good, Is Somewhat Greedy and Puts Yourself at Risk, If You Aren't Alive, So Isn't Your Team. The Amputator Is a Team Melee, Being Able to Heal Everyone Around You in a Firefight in a Mere 5 Seconds, So I Would Say Use the Amp.

Ubersaw for me.

I always run ubersaw in silver but it's always fun to mess around with the other bonesaws in public matches. There just isn't time to sit around and wait for your health to regenerate because my only goal as medic in a match is to get uber before the other medic does *and not die*.
