Folks:

The idea of a tournament has come up. Sign up here if you'd like to participate. If we get enough people to fill out a decent bracket then we will go forward.

Rules are not ironed out but there will probably be some form of basic balance rules regarding composition. I'm thinking each pairing has either a week or maybe 3 days to contact each other and have their bout, whatever people think is reasonable. If any pairing wants to have their match on stream for fun we will try to do that!

If there is clear interest demonstrated then I'll draft up the actual rules and regs for everybody. This is an interest check right now.

Did see one tournament suggestion I really liked, instead of trying to cut down on counterpicking and cheesy units by restricting numbers, each tourney member creates a list of units they're locked into for each match in the tournament. The idea would be to promote balanced armies that can respond to different situations.

Probably be best if you were able to pick out two lists with a little bit of wiggle room, just to keep things dynamic.

Chomp mentioned that format, I'm actually a little reticent about doing that since some factions really suffer in that environment and it makes some matchups really not that fun to watch. Mostly it means no one will ever play an air general in case they match up against Brettonia, and we'll never get to see giant units in case they end up against a faction that takes ranged units. I actually think that because of the army asymmetry, it makes some of the rosters shrink and I don't really want to see that happen.
