Smite (F2P) Family Sharing Issue

My friend got beta key for Smite week prior to game release. Now that Smite is free to play it still says that he is sharing it to me. I cannot start game when he is using his library. Tried re sharing, it did not help. Any ideas how to fix ?

Some people reported success in starting f2p games via the store webpage.

Or you could try to temporarily disable sharing and see if that helps. (e.g. sfs-select) But steam might even then remeber where the game came from. If that happens try to uninstall/reinstall the game while still disabled.

@PsyBlade Tried running from store page, it just refreshed the page. Tried disabling sharing, yes indeed i could play it then but as soon as person reshared with me same issue reappeared. Tried downloading when sharing was off starting game once and reshared still same issue.

You could try what happens if you start the exe directly.

If that doesn't help you need to temporarily disable sharing each time you want to play the game.

The only other option that comes to mind is hoping that valve starts fixing bugs in sfs once the steammachines are released.
