Very nice. I liked the well explained criticisms about the controls. If I also just look at the game I don't really expect it to play out like a puzzle game. Seems like it might be worth a try when it inevitably gets dirt cheap or bundled. :D

I thought it was going to be much more open-world/sandbox style than it was. To me, it played like a drawn out puzzler, in that once you figure out how to prevent whatever environmental hazards from destroying your villages, you just spent the rest of your time moving around materials. If you're not really into the open world type of game and you enjoy solving puzzles, then this game may be better suited for you then it was for me (especially the challenge mode, you'd probably love the challenge mode)

The game does a lot of cool and unique things, that I'd still happily recommend it if you can get it when it goes on sale, because I did enjoy the game for at least a few hours. For a few bucks, it's well worth the price of admission just to watch the lava cool and flow over the island, naturally forming stone barriers. It's the later levels that start getting a bit too drawn out and tedious for me to enjoy.
