Calling this game a 'shooter' is like calling the Dickens classic 'Hard Times' a beer coaster. This game (along with the original bioshock) goes close to having as much social commentary/philosophical depth as some of the classics of literature. If you just want a fun shooter, there are thousands of clones out there.

The two DLC packs are fantastic pieces of story telling. And the world is a joy to explore.

That ending was NOT mediocre, not by a long shot! Plus the way they weaved modern music into turn-of-the-century forms was great fun.

The game is mediocre at best regardless the genre. The setting is interesting, but basicly the game is all beautiful wrap without anything really worthwhile inside. Together with Bioshock 2 these are the weakest Shock games IMO.

19 of my 46 Steam friends play this game and like it. 'Games that are fun to play' is the RPGWatch Steam motto. And not: 'Games that qualify as CRPGs under any circumstance' :violettcurious:
