Background Story:
The 83rd ID was founded on June 14, 2017 by Major Myles. Myles is a hard working individual who has put in the time and dedication to create this unit/community from scratch.

Historical Background Story:
The 83rd Infantry Division, commanded by Major General Robert C. Macon, arrived in England on 16 April 1944. After training in Wales, the division, taking part in the Allied invasion of Normandy, landed at Omaha Beach, 18 June 1944, and entered the hedgerow struggle south of Carentan, 27 June. Taking the offensive, the 83rd reached the St. Lo-Periers Road, 25 July, and advanced 8 miles (13 km) against strong opposition as the Normandy Campaign ended.

The 83rd ID is a realism unit for Day of Defeat Source. We have active and dedicated members that are mature. We participate in drills, realism matches, and scrims with other units. This unit is proudly led by Maj. Myles [83rd ID].

The 83D Clan Branch:

The 83D is a clan made up of community members who support the 83rd ID and their servers but do not wish to participate in their unit. They are a group of chill and fun people who like to have a good time. This clan is proudly led by the community.
