Not available on your current platform?
My old computer that I had originally downloaded Fallout: New Vegas and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is trashed. It's shot and no longer works. I bought a new Mac computer and installed Steam. I want to install both games again, however, this Mac does not have a dvd drive/tray to install them on. I tried just installing them through steam but I get the following error message.

"The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is not available on your current platform"

What does this mean?

Fallout:New Vegas and Elder Scroll V:Skyrim are not available for Mac OSX; they are Windows only games. You need to install Windows via Bootcamp and dual boot into Windows and install Steam for Windows to play Elder Scroll V:Skyrim or Fallout:New Vegas. Some people got Skyrim to work inside Mac OSX by using Cider wrappers or Wine wrappers (google search it for more details.)

And about the Mac not having a DVD drive-- solution is to buy an external USB2.0 or 3.0 DVD drive and then you can use the DVD discs; I myself use a USB 2.0 Samsung Blu-ray writer drive for using discs and playing Blu-ray movies and it just works fine for me.
