You're talking about how on the front page of the Store, there is a section for the games that were recently released, and if a Mac version came after the Windows version, it won't show up there because the game itself is no longer recent.
It's true that it does reduce the visibility of some ports, but checking in the Mac section of the Store, the featured games and new releases will usually give you a decent sense of what's been released.
The featured games box on the front page also has tabs for all three platforms, and it defaults to whatever platform you are viewing the page from.
