Windows 10 & DSR.
For a little while now I have been dual booting my windows 7 rig with a windows 10 preview release.

Also, recently, I have been using DSR on my games that support it. Mostly GTA V to be honest. Rendering @ a little under 4k and running my screen @ 1360 x 765. DSR works a treat in my windows 7 boot but fails to work in my win 10 boot. Both are 64 bit installs, both are using the most recent updated drivers for each install. Beta drivers on 10 and full release drivers on 7.

DSR fails to work on the Windows 10 boot and I am unsure as to what the situation is. I am guessing that it's because I cannot access the driver control panel while I am using windows 10. (possibly a bug or possibly not having the correct updates from Microsoft).

If anyone has any ideas as to why I cannot get this feature to work in win10 I would be interested to hear them. I am thinking it's a case of an issue with the drivers being beta release.

For reference my specs are i7-3770 (stock clocked with non-k overclock running) and gtx 780ti (3GB windfore 3xOC edition). Full specs are available on my profile.

There isn't an official Windows 10 display driver available yet.

DSR as well as SLI both have know issues due to the graphic drivers on Win 10 Tech Preview don't support it correctly.

Actually there is; first NVIDIA WHQL released already. But u need to ensure your Win10 build is up to date. And the WHQL drivers thus far require GTX 600 series or later.

If using the older Win10 NVIDIA Beta drivers, fully uninstall all those first.
Again, do the clean install method. Uninstall > Reboot > Install NVIDIA driver > Custom > Perform Clean Install.

Well, that's new (released date: Fri May 15, 2015). There appears to be an offical version after all, even before Win 10 final is released.

Thanks for the correction Bad-Motha.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Yes, I have had a clean installation of the driver.

I re-installed the most recent Windows build that I got on Monday or Tuesday this week and installed the most recent driver from the Nvidia site directly on the same day. I believe they have drivers out because there are a number of people testing now and there seems to be less and less time till the 3rd quarter which is when I believe they aim to have the O/S in full release state.

Effective testing etc blah about drivers. (not to be rude, but I know you guys are savvy enough to understand what I mean! :o) )

I think I may just do another re-install over the weekend and see how it goes. My main O/S is due a reboot too so I may just roll all that into a bumper weekend of re-installs

I recently moved to Win 10. Having used DSR before with Win 7 I had no problems. ..However in Win there is an issue which makes me not want to use DSR. Any game that I use DSR in messes up my desktop icons. What happens is when I close the game, all my desktop icons are pushed over to the left. I have to reorganise them all. ...My monitor is 1080p and I like to use 1440p DSR sometimes. I can not be bothered to re-organise my icons after any game using DSR though.

Try ClassicShell for your Win10 OS; that can allow you to properly Lock down your Desktop Icons. Unless you have them too far towards the bottom or right of your screen (depending on how your region orients them; as some region use the upper-right alignment by default) and then change to a lower screen res, you should be fine. Going higher res and then back down shouldn't really cause this.

Don't listen to this dude. Their latest download is bugged and will delete your harddrives.
