looking for a GPU upgrade

My current setup:
CPU: AMD 8120 8-core processor 2.21GHz
8 Gigs RAM DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6800
I think my graphics card is becoming obsolete as i am, for the first time, no longer getting seamless displays on the latest games. My rome total war 2 has little micro lag in very large battles so i think its time to upgrade.
The goal is to get the best graphics card out that will cost me less than $250 two months from now. I prefer to stick with Radeon.

thanks for the links. apparantly the radeon one isnt doing so well and there is almost no product information on that amazon page so i may go with the last gigabyte one. there wont be any complications because i have catalyst control manager installed for my current card will there?

people are buying those cards fast for bitcoin ing thats why most of them are out of stock. and the prices are higher because of the demand.

you have to unistall the radeon drivers then install the new nvidia card drivers for the new card.

Tomshardware usually has some pretty good 'bang for your buck' guides. You'll have to assess the market when you are ready to buy, nobody can forsee the future. Have you considered buying used?

If you are having new perfomrance issues, you may consider formatting your hard drive and reinstalling your operating system so things are 'fresh'.
