life of laptop
i have a friend whose laptops died within 2 or 3 years
what are possible causes that may shorten life of laptop?

That depends on how the laptop is treated. If a laptop has a hard drive rather than a SSD, moving it around a lot while it's in use can end up causing problems with the hard drive.

Overheating & dust.The hdd isnt rly important,you can replace it in 5min.

The number one problem that all laptops have, the power connection. The little pin where the wire goes into the laptop. If that is knocked, bent, strained, the laptop will eventually cut off dead. Doesn't even need to be that much strained.

As with all electronics, heat is the biggest enemy. The more electronics heats up and then cools the more they degrade. In general the smaller you can make the temperature change the longer it will live.

Also, because it's a laptop, impact and wear from moving it could also cause problems.
