Offline mode, no steam login information
SO! Steam works fine for me, but I go into offline mode for more than a few days and I guess it drops the login information. I am in the Navy and go weeks without internet and a need for my steam games! Help me please!!

are you having trouble logining in steam from the weather or steam itself

I can log on perfectly fine, when I have internet. But while I am out too sea I don't get internet at all. After about a week I can't play my games anymore... :(

I am having the same problem. I can play games in offline mode for about a week or so, then steam losing my login information at random times. I do not have internet access at my house, I have to take my computer to a friend's house to connect to the internet to get the login information back on steam.

Fred, I do launch my games while I still have internet and they work. But after about a week or so, steam loses my account info so I can't even open steam. It sucks...

Do you have - Don't save account credentials on this computer - ticked in View, Settings?

If I had that checked then I wouldn't be able to go offline at all.
I am able to go into offline mode and play my games for about a week, and then the steam account info gets deleted off of my computer somehow. I want to find out how to stop that.

I have the exact same problem with my PCs as well. Offline mode will work for a while but it always forgets my login info randomly. I have tried backing up the winui.gcf file and restoring this and it does not help at all. Nobody knows why Steam randomly forgets your login info?

I have the exact same issue. The school I live at has blocked all ports except 80, so I have internet access but still can't log in to offline mode. I took my computer the 300 kilometers home (it's not one of those handy laptops) just to go online, update my games and enter offline mode so I could play my games. Imagine the frustration when I get back and steam dumps my info after five days! Steam gotta fix this issue.

It's marketing. They seem to think that having you always online to see their content makes your more likely to buy more. This isn't true though if you dissatisfy customers to a certain extent.

Oh I should add the more recent installations of steam have permanent offline mode problems; if you are updating from an older version of steam, sometimes you are more fortunate (I emphasize sometimes)

Same problem here, i had contacted the steam-support, okay, the people did at least answer, but gave only copy&paste-hints, which doesnt solve the problem. I erased steam and installed it new, nothing helps.
I never had problems with the offline-mode so far, but now it is broken, which means, that i cant play the games ive bought. Now i see, how old this thread is, so steam doesnt want to fix it :(
I truly like steam, but the malfunctioning-offline-mode is a really big dissapointment to me.
Sadly many new games, even bought on disk, like Tomb Raider and RE 6 forced me to use steam, which means, i cant play them, while i have no Internet.
I dont like this DRM!

Same here, Offline mode isn't working anymore. No steam login information stored blah blah. I tried EVERYTHING, it just doesn't work.

If the steam-programmers would at least give us a signal, that they would finally fix the offline-problems soon, but ... nothing :(

The real annoying thing is that even though it says no steam login information is available as soon as you restore internet access it will quite happily auto-login to your account, thus proving that the account info WAS saved.....
