Hello, all my steam games are crashing. DotA 2 and Borderlands 2. My Starcraft 2 doesnt crash. and it is a gaurenteed crash when i alt+tab. But sometimes it just happens. I have tried completely uninstalling everything steam related and reinstalling to no use. Same with graphic card drivers. Have tried the registry tricks. and doing -autoconfig. But the games are still crashing and im out of ideas. but this is extremely irritating.

What kind of video card do you have? What are your specs?

You can disable the Steam overlay and community in-game features in the settings. If the games still crash after that, then the issue is with those specific games and not with Steam. I've never played DOTA, but Borderlands 2 has crashed for me plenty of times.
i dont have time atm to get all my specs here but:
evga 560 TI.
phenom black 965 i think? quad core 3.4ghz.
ssd and a hdd.
SSD is my main boot and has my games on it.
Just did a clean install of windows....ill see if it happens again once the games are downloaded.
i have done that. i havent had any crashes yet since a clean install of Windows... but i probably just jinxed it... And yes i downloaded it directly from the nvidia website.

just got a pauge fault blue screen that pointed back to the nvidia driver... seconds after i installed GeForece Experience.... uninstalled that right away... I had a huge arguement with EVGA and this is the 3rd card in 2 months and they said they made sure sure that it was a good card before it was sent out... so i dont think its that.... i think it was the expericnce program.... but anywho.... borderlands crashed, before experience was installed. so i turned off the in-game thing like the person had said above... but im gonna go and see if DotA 2 crashes.
well... the BIOS didnt help this issue before the clean install. because it was updated before hand
The BIOS is up-to-date at F7 for my version of windows. they have a program that installs it for you automatically. did that, it didnt change. When i tried doing it manually it said this update isnt for 64-bit versions of windows. so that is done
well i just got a blue screen and here is what bluescreenview says.

i followed the steps, but it crashed DirectX Diagnostics, the time i ran it it said it ran into a problem "accesing direct 3D"... could this be a cause to the problems?
