Right click on the shortcut, click properties.
Ex: "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -clearbeta
it seams that the -clearbeta is not working for me. is there any other ways do remove it. i tried some of the offline thing also but steam will not start cos appearently he knows about update.
in steam bage there is some steam downloader or something like that.
is there able to get full installation files to download and setup and them it might work in offline mode?
i am out of ideas actually. pleae help

Noodles = my hero! Thanks a bunch. Now SC1 & SC3 work w/o that annoying "Failed to Start Game" Error!
Read about that "-clearbeta" thingy you should add to the steam.exe, but that didn't work. Opting-out of that - apparently - massively bugged Steam beta did the trick. It's rather hard to find though... not anymore.
