Will Valve fix their client to work with older AMD and Intel processors

or I will not be able to play anything until I upgrade my rig?

What do you mean? How old are we talking? I have Steam running on a computer I bought 7+ years ago...

I run Steam on a computer which is quite ancient. The laptop was new when Vista came out.
So what exactly is the point of this question? Steam runs on old CPUs just fine.

Processors that lack SSE2 instructions. Mine is an ancient AMD Athlon XP. The last update gives the classic : failed to load Steamui.dll error.

Hmmm. Probably time to upgrade.

Eventually old technology has to be abandoned.

And how do you know the lack of SSE2 is the reason?

I see. But sooner or later, you will have to upgrade. Don't get me wrong, upgrading certainly isn't fun when you don't exactly have much money. But someday you will have to.

it all depends were you are from I guess.

I know but until I do I can't play anything on Steam.
