i have a fix that works for me... rep this comment if you can +++ hahaha
here's how :
1. login to steam with ur real account, then klik the logout button on Steam->Change User... then logout (dont go exit).
2. create new account (this is the important one).
3. logout like the way before (Steam -> Change User... Logout).
4. login again with ur real account.
5. enjoy ur game dude :)

My Dota2 and left 4 dead 2 have fused? PLEASE HELP

So I played dota2 about 2 hours ago, left my computer to have dinner, come back and Dota2 has disappeared from my library. But it is "updating" but the update is 8.2gb. I see also that l4d2 is downloading in my library. So I go to the store and go to the dota2 page and click "play game" and it says that I'm about to install l4d2??

I quit steam and logged back in and now rather than saying its updating Dota2 in my downloads, it has turned into l4d2 and still 8.2gb?

Yea something screwy is going on. My Tribes: Ascend turned into Global Agenda and is downloading 6.4 gigs right now. It's got HL2 Ep 2 queued to update... and i don't even have that installed right now. heh. Probably have to wait for Valve to flip a switch or something.

Also i just saw, my friends are playing dota2, I know that for a fact, and it says on my friends list that they are playing l4d2

This happened to me too. Also, half-life 2 is apparently team fortress 2. When I go to the store page of Dota 2 and "play now", it wants to install L4D2. Already completely wiped out steam from my computer and nothing works? GABEN PLZ

Guys, I get the same thing. I'd HIGHLY recommend just exiting steam. Something is *really* messed up w/steam right now. I also noticed that Russian was my preferred language by default on the forums...seems to me something really really weird is going on. I'd exit steam as to not corrupt your game files w/weird updates/downloads.

Hopefully it's just an internal issue and not something 'worse'.

In my case Portal was that it was gone ha now appears counter strike.

Ok so I am playing css then i go for dinner i come back and it says half life to, it just finsighed downloading... So i play it and it is acutally hl 2 and i no longer have css. I then reset m steam and it was the same. Can somone please tellme what is happening and can someone pleaqse fix it.

Steam games have changed names? Help!

I had just come back from playing team fortress 2 and went to play it again but it had changed its name to Portal? and dota had changed its name to left 4 dead 2! I dont even own them! (i know this because they are in my favourrites)

Wheni click on them they ask if i want to update them or run anyway if i click "update" they sit there for ages at 0% and if i click "play anyway" they crash?!

And yes i have deleted the .blob plese help!

Edit: after "verifying" for a bit it started to download the respective games -_- (wich i dont even own)
