Failed to contact key server

Hey everybody, I have a problem... I can't start game Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist.
When i try to start it ... it says "Failed to contact key server" and its doing all the time... :/
Please if somebody can help me :(

Ubisoft no longer provides keys. Make sure your UPlay version is up to date and retry again to launch the game.

I do not have UPlay app.

But why do i need to have UPlay when i bought it in steam ?

Because it's a Ubisoft games and their games run through UPlay, no matter where you bought it.

I think a lot of people who bough Splinter Cell during this weekend sale are having this problem, because I have it too. I can only assume that the problem is that Valve hasn't gotten enough key codes from Ubisoft yet. Check out this article here:

@NC350X thanks for the info, it´s kind of a bummer that this kind of ♥♥♥♥ happen on steam since they´re pretty much selling something they don´t have... but at least the key will be provided later

Failed to contact key server. Splinter Cell Blacklist.

So I saw a sale on Splinter cell, ive never seen any of the games so I decided to get one. When the download was done the key failed to contact the key server, any advice?

I've got the same - I looked it up. Apparently it's when Steam sell a game they do not have enough CD Keys for and the DRM stopps you from being able to use it!
It should work in a day or so, but it is terribly unethincal for Steam to pull this crap!

I'm having the same problem, this isn't very good customer sevice. very poor infact!
