Complaining about Visual C++ redistributables

I'm trying to run the game for the first time and i'm getting a nag box saying it can't locate Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 redistributable installation package. I own over 600 games on Steam and I've never had a problem with Steam performing it's first-run installations. Anyone else experiencing this?

If you have not already done so, try running the redist package manually.

Oddly for a game on Steam. the undergarden does not seem to include the redist packages in it's installation folder so try the one direct from the microsoft website that applies for your pc.

Thanks. I simply quit the installer and the game runs. I'm sure they've been installed by lots of other games already.

Games tend to only install the files that that game requires rather than the full package - that's why Steam usually does a check for each game at the start of the installation. As I said, it's odd that they don't seem to be included in the undergarden's installation folder.

Anyway - glad that the game is working for you. I bought The Undergarden back when it was released and enjoyed playing it. Hope you have fun.
