"Privacy" LOL!
Hi so this is mainly directed at the game devs, but I recon anyone who plays this should be aware of what they've agreed to.

I am a bit of a Star Trek fan, and when your game was released I gave it a quick try, but didn't like it much - so I uninstalled.
Just recently some of my friends asked me to have another go, because i could "join there fleet" and playing alongside these friends is appealing enough for me to give STO another go.

However, whilst registering ( I couldn't find my old login + previoulsy I had used a different computer to play this ) I quickly scanned the aggreement ( and read the part that said you can remove any account for no reason at all ) then went on to scan the privacy aggreement also.

ARE YOU COPLETELY OUT OF YOUR MINDS?

Essentially the agreement says:

- you will try not to abuse my personnel information but might do it anyway.

- Also you might ask 3rd parties to collect information and you dont care what they do with it.

- Finnally you provide no warrenties and accept no responsibility for anything you or any third parties do with that info

I don't think so.

Please message me if you ever change your privacy policy then ill give the game another try, meanwhile I be will avoiding anything made by either "Perfect World" or "Cryptic".

It's free to play. Worst comes to worst they steal an account on a stupid game.

Pretty much any game you play that has a ToS states that they can revoke your 'llicense" to use their program at any time for any reason.

That's pretty much the standard agreement in almost any game these days especially online games. If you don't play because of that it's really only you missing out. I've been a member since beta, and they haven't done anything nefarious with my information. You'll be fine.

Not that I do this nor am advocating it... why did you think you had to provide authentic details? With companies like Sony (and even Cryptic) having been hacked in the past... and with various payment methods available. Why? Because they asked for your real name?
