Needs of the many mission

Ok, the above mission. Is it me or is it the most torturous thing anyone has ever played. I spent 2 hours last night trying to complete this basic early on mission and got no where. Started to lose the will to live. Ended up dropping it. Am i doing something wrong? Its asking me to give aid to a planet that doesnt seem to show up, instead I end up scanning anomolies all day long with the occasional system to explore then further tedious missions /anomaly scanning and no planets needing aid!

it's a side mission, ignore it, I have.

If I remember correctly (I had same problem) is that you need the Actual Provision with you for the mission to Pop Up. (It will tell you that a Planet needs X Provision) if you have enough you will get a hail9Usually) and it will finish on it's owm.

Necro'ing this thread. Just started and having the same issue. Got several shield generators which are supposed to go to delta sector. Any tips?
