Is there any significant difference between choosing Klingon or federation?

Er... I'm not entrirely sure about changing the Romulan storyline (I'm still kinda shocked that Romulans actually get a real storyline... considering my previous experience with the game), but picking a side gives you access to the ships of that side.

Although honestly I thought the entire point of picking a Romulan was for the Warbirds, so that might not matter I guess.

The Romulan episodes are /very/ good, with voice acting pretty much throughout it. Much better then the Fed/Klingon ones. You get access to more ships by choosing Fed/Kling sides. Essentially if you have payed (C Store) versions of ships on Federation or Klingon, then you can use those on your Romulan. You also can buy ships from those factions, if you so choose. I do not, however, feel the 'entire point of picking a romulan was for the Warbirds' as there is little difference ultimately in ships in any of the factions, it comes down to what you want to Role Play as and what you feel is the right 'role' (modern day usage of that word, in context with video games) for you. If you think the format of most 'Trek is kinda weird, then go for the Romulans or Klingons. Klingons too stupid and brutal? Go for fed, ect.
