Why is the Enterprise J a Pancake?

Pretty much what the title asks, since I just did an STF with it in. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Enterprise, you only had to blow the blood sphere's up. Get it right the first time dang nabbit!

Regarding the Enterprise's inability to get it right the first time, let me quote Scotty from Star Trek III,

I think it was officially explained as Starfleet utilizes pocket dimensions or something which makes the ships appear more compact than they really are. But, yeah, it doesn't look very good

Enterprise J first appeared in the Tv series "Enterprise" it looked ugly there as well but you only got to see the inside of a corridor, a window and a schematic on the wall panel.
