Toxic Cannister Kills My Game

So I just downloaded the newer expansion packs and love what I'm seeing - except for one issue.

Basically, I'm playing a rogue scientist and while I love what the Toxic Cannister does to enemies it often freezes my game completely as well. Any ideas how to stop the freezing?

First of all, I've never heard of that happening and it's not listed as a known bug on the official forums. So I'd double-check you have the latest video and sound drivers, and check the game cache. If that doesn't work, try disabling any mods you have installed and see if it happens in a new game.

I registered for an account with gaslight games, though I have yet to get the confirmation email. And I'm not using any mods, and the cache integrity seems to be intact. Might be having some driver issues though, we'll see if that works.

Okay, it said my drivers were out of date and I updated them, but that didn't fix the problem. And I feel its only fair to say it doesn't freeze every time, but at least half.

Alright, in fairness I'm reporting that I MIGHT of found a work around people should know about. If you don't aim for walls, doors, or creatures directly and instead aim at patches of floor it SEEMS to freeze much less. Maybe.

I'm thinking out loud, but maybe it could be, perhaps, a physical or graphical memory problem -- maybe either insufficient or faulty memory. I don't know, but the guys on the official website probably could help you more than I can.

Have yet to get the confirmation email, but if and when I do I will. I got 8 gigs of memory though, so that shouldn't be the problem.

Make sure that the response did not get filtered into your junk mail. If that's not the case, I suggest e-mailing [e-mail] for assistance with the website. They may not even be aware if there's a problem with the site registration. I do know that the site has been a target of spam posts and some security measures have been taken. At least once that I know of, it's caused problems for legitimate registrants.

Heh, I just got killed by mine somehow. I targeted an empty space, it somehow bounced off of it and decided to return home. It somehow killed me intantly, through 86 hp and the clockwork armour/helmet with all the resistances. :X

Still haven't gotten anything from them to report the bug. The good news is that the work-around works fine. But now the game also freezes whenever it autosaves!
