Regarding Crafting Recipes

So I'm wondering how these recipes on the bookshelves work. Do you keep the recipe once you discover it like in Sword of the Stars: The Pit, where even if you die the recipe is recorded down for future playthroughs? Or once you die the recipe is lost and you have to find it again?

The latter- new characters need to find recipes again.

Not all recipes start out hidden, though. And you can improve your chances of finding them with the Alien Autopsy skill from Paranormal Investigator, which is in the last DLC (Conquest of the Wizardlsands). If you play with No Time to Grind, you will likely find fewer recipes (as well as fewer mats), so I don't recommend that mode if you are running a crafting build. I've also seen one or two cheat mods in the workshop which add more bookcases.
