Dear devs, any chance of Steam achievements added at a later date?

I have been stuck at cabinet for months now early in the game. It says to search it if I press hint -- but there is no option to search it. As far as I can tell this is a game breaking bug with no fix. I posted months ago with no developer response.

It keeps saying there is something to inspect but the only thing to click is a door not the cabinet. Keeps saying inspect cabinet in this hall about 20min into game but no prompt. I think it wants me to put the handle on the umbrella but there is no option to.......
