Sound glitch

Everytime I load the game I get a ear pearcing sound of interference through my headset. I tried to mute the game both through the sound mixer and in game but it is still there and incredibly loud! please help this is game breaking for me!

Having the same problem, can't seem to find any option in-game regardning audio-channels so there's currently no way to cross a problem involving that off the list.

i have the same issue. i have to keep restarting until it doesn't do it anymore. My sound is through my normal speakers. it sounds like a lot of distortion.

Somebody in another thread said it was a problem with 7.1 audio setups. So if, like me, you use something like a G35 headset, you're stuffed unless you can use a different sound device

I've found a workaround. If you happen to have Virtual Audio Cable (or something similar) you can set it as your sound device and pipe the stereo signal through to your headset. Works fine then. Still want WotC to issue a patch though.

I have exactly the same issue, the only workaround atm seems to be to set your speaker configuration to 5.1/ 6 Channels or lower. The problem occurs only with speaker configurations of 7.1 / 8 Channels

i use surround and my headset dont have stereo so i think surround need to be fixed

i used the 5.1 sound config. so far no issues. ty, this issue was really bugging me. it also works for Dead Island.

how do I use the 5.1 sound config? I have the G35 headset, do I set it in the game or the sound card?
