A bit overpowered?

Not really since there are so many ways to remove it quickly. A few decks will have problems against a Pridemate that big but:
--it takes a while for it to grow that big, and
--they should have a window where they can remove it
Not only iss what dh50 said correct but it is also a card that is reliant on you gaining health. meaning if you do no have another card to give you health this thing is just a vanillat 2/2. Granted the deck its played in has a ton of ways to gain health and the pridemate synergizes well, it is still reliant upon you drawing other cards to help fuel it.

It took 1 turn for it to grow and come out in planeschase. I also have no clue what you mean by a window where you can remove it? remove what? the tokens?

Sure you just need one other creature out from that deck, the one that gives you one health per creature that is casted. In planechase that creature is easy to get to 50/50
The pridemate can be killed or controlled the same as any other creature and thus is only a threat to a deck without control. Do you run into a lot of those decks? Any bounce, direct damage, pacify, or destroy effects will take care of the threat, and out of the above the only one of those that Celestial Light can do anything about is pacify-style enchants. The pridemate also doesn't innately have trample and thus can be safely chump blocked or taken out by anything with deathtouch.

What I meant by a window is that it starts as a 2/2, so even if you're playing a deck that only has damage-based removal, they can kill it before it grows out of range.

If it only took one turn to grow to a 44/44 - that is a rare situation, and meant that whoever played it probably already had total board control. And even then, an instant-speed direct damage spell could have killed it as it was gaining counters.

OP in Planechase is not a thing. The randomness of that mode means that board wipes, bounce or other ways to destroy creatures come up very frequently.

Burn is a terrible matchup against huge creatures anyway so I wouldn't sweat it too much losing a match this way.
It might be a 44/44 but it has no evasion or any other abilities. Not really that dangerous tbh.
Next thing we gonna hear about Lord of Extinction being OP...and so on and on and on. It can be 100/100 yet still be blocked by 1/1 saproling with happy smile on his face. Big fat creatures without any combat abilities are easy to deal with in combat.

The Serra Avatar in the Celestial Light deck, has power and thoughness equal to its player total life, so it gets easily op, once i made it 9999/9999, that was my total life.

Serra Avatar isn't overpowered either, for all of the same reasons the Pridemate isn't - it is easily killed for any deck other than a direct damage deck, and it can be chump blocked if it can't be killed. In fact, it's not even a great inclusion in a CL deck build - there are much better cards.
A simple pacify or destroy ally card will resolve any of those situation. In some games you will have it, in others you will not draw it when you need it (in those cases gz, next game please). But that is about it, since its a card game luck will always come into play.
Planechase is silly imo. Only done it, to get achiev; after that i simply dont play it because i dont like it.
For all these fatties I just love Act of Treason. Yep, it is swinging into your direction now. I am more afraid of Blood Artist - 0/1 than 9999 avatar. Well unless it just got brand new Loxodon Hammer :D.
Stop paying attention to creature's P/T so much, fcourse it matters but some abilities are much more dangerous.

Man this started out as a slight joke and people have flipped out. Apparently overpowered claims is serious business here.

if you could give your pridemate hexproof or something, then it would be a big threat :D

There are enchantments in that deck but I don't think any give hexproof.
