Because they want your money for a product that doesn't work correctly anymore? Valve seems to allow publishers to scam people like this, so yeah, welcome to the Steam Store.

Always do some research on a game you want to buy on Steam, otherwise you *will* get scammed at some point.

Nothing is perfect. I wouldn't put all of your trust into any service or product until you really know all the ins and outs. Steam has been pretty good to me for all these years but it's not without its flaws.

Because it's still a single player game too. I've only ever played the original and this in Single player mode.

Mmm, that is very interesting indeed. Lets hope they add Steamworks support or a completely Steamworks based version :D

could we hope with steamwork to not only get our progression saved but a comeback of ranking ? would be great but that was probably exclusively in timegate's side

I'm not getting my hopes up. After playing Prejudice for a bit, I like the mechanics much better than the original and think it's not bad as a MP game, but it's probably not good enough to warrant having a steamworks version. Hard for me to say that considering I've never had a real conquest match with real people (with 8-16 players). Either way, if they make one, I'll play it.

Well, it's possible that Atari could've bought Section 8's IP rights, seeing that they're the publisher for Minimum nowadays. My claim isn't that far fetched, have a look at the following:

If noone bought Section 8's IP rights, then Prejudice wouldn't be up for sale on Steam anymore. However, the store page for Prejudice still shows Timegate as the publisher, but I think it's only a matter of time before it gets updated. Lets hope they convert the game for a Steamworks release :)
