I only don't recommend this game solely because I'm very neutral about it.

The game is heavily carried by its writing. Every character is smart and witty in some way, especially Yvette. Yvette is not a self-insert. You can control her personality to a certain point, but she is still a smart, witty, capable woman, which is the entire point of her. She is the point of her story, the point of the whole story.

However, outside of that?

I can't really recommend the game.

The visual novel lacks any CGs (you know, a sort of must in most VNs) outside of certain scenes. Mechanics are plain, and while you recruit companions, it's not worth it most of the time, most of them coming of as "One and done" uses. They are likely supposed to interact with other mechanics, but they don't, even though one specifically mentions in game mechanics.

Sometimes, as well, it's difficult to gauge certain mechanics, like whether or not characters will trust you. For one example, I am pretty sure I was at or close to 100 and utterly failed a challenge.

If you don't mind most of the game being heavily reliant on its writing, yeah I can wholly suggest this. But even for a visual novel, there is a lot missing, gameplay is repetitive with little variation, and you don't really feel rewarded all the time.
