Should I get Saints Row 2 or 3?
Which one would you recommend between the two of them? (IV isn't an option, I don't think I've got the system requirements for it.)

Saints Row 3 because 2 is EXTREMELY bad on PC

get 3 with all the dlc. it's much more fun than 2. 3 is a really fun game.

I've played through 3 and 4 a few times. I finally picked up 2 in this summer sale (although it went down to 75% off a few days after I did, which is a a bit annoying but oh well) and have played through a good chunk of it.

Overall, I think they both have their positives and negatives. There are things SR 3 does better then SR 2 and vise versa.

Personally, I would recommend SR3 over 2 because I honestly think it's more fun gameplay (especially the combat) wise then 2. That however is just my opinion and I know it's something with which plenty of people will disagree.

SR2 on the PC as well has terrible preformance and that's being nice. While there are things you can do to help, in my experience, it's still quite choppy at times. The vehicle physics especially are well, they're not good to again be nice.

SR2 is (especially at times) much more serious then SR3. Some prefer more serious, others prefer more silly, so that's again. a matter of opinion. Some will prefer the story in SR2, others in SR3.

Personally, I think that while SR3's ideas aren't always quite as good as SR2, they did a really good job with them and made them fun so it might not seem that way. SR2 has/had a lot of good ideas that perhaps (again, a matter of opinion) might have worked out better if the game was a bit more fun and less serious.

I personally would recommend SR3, but again, that's just a matter of opinion.

Btw, one big difference is 2 is that you don't have levels and cannot buy upgrades. You get upgrades by finishing the activities (usually 3 instances for one, 6 for the next). Sadly, this can and does make combat harder as getting health upgrades as well as damage reduction is not that much of an option like it is in 3 and 4. I woulod rate the combat in 3 and 4 much more fun because of the upgrades you can get but again, that's just my opinion.

SR2 Has terrible Porting, SR3 Has bad porting.
SR3 Is the worst of the Series.
SR2 Is the second best of the series.

I'd go with SR2 For good Story and Theming
SR3 For Slightly better porting.
(Guess I'll need this here: IMO)

Well, I got 2 & 3 while they were still on the daily sale. As I said before, I don't know for sure if SR4 would run on my computer. Maybe the next time it's on sale I'll get 4 if I enjoy 2 & 3.

Saints row 2 is far better than 3 and 4 combined...
And DONT BUY all dlcs when you get Sr3 and Sr4.
Cause one of those dlcs is a invincible cheat dlc.
Which prevents you from dying the entire game.
Seriously the most ridiculous thing ever...
Both games are easy as hell, having such a cheat/dlc only makes the game more boring.

Its true about Sr2 not being great for pc, but if you can run in propperly on pc and get used to the controls.
This game is far better than the other 2.
And unlike the other 2, Sr2 is still played the most.

SR2 over anything.I'd prefer Gat threatening to shove a gavel into someone over Gat dying.

SR2. Also get the GOTR mod. Yes, the PC port is bad, but it's more a minor inconvenience than anything game-breaking. You don't have to navigate menus during the game anyway. The customization is about 10x better, the action is better, the story is better.

SR3 has better graphics, arguably better driving controls, and more silliness.

In SR3 they also removed 75% of the weapons, 75% of the costume options, 50% of the cars, and the combo animations in melee.

SR2 is better. :gordon:
