Is this really, actually, literally THE great Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull?

I thought I did what was necessary, but I still cannot start. The character selection remains wholly opaque to me, still, too. What do the 60/80/100 in the heraldic shield indicate? Those "select character" options may be linked to the temples listed on the world map, but it's not very clear what's going on with either! What am I overlooking?...

I'm completely digging the esoteric theme and the mix of puzzle platforming and card combat sounds super intriguing, but some might be put off by the $20 price. I think that might be too much to charge for this, but I will most likely take the plunge and buy it anyway when I get home from work tonight. Then if I get it, I will make videos and a review for anyone else that might be on the fence about this game....
