Word of warning for possible buyers

I am going to have to caution against buying this game, due to its technical issues.
Yes, rage is a bit notorious for its technical issues it seems but i thought i would leave this here if you are on the fence about a purchase. After the rather long wait on the download, the game will not launch; after several hours of trying every bug fix i can find, the game will not launch, same error (failed to start game, unknown error).
Not trying to trash the game, but it was too buggy to even launch so i cant give an opinion on it outside of that- i just thought i would leave a warning to spare someone else the frustration that comes with steam selling a nonfunctional product. peace.

I install the game and it launches, as also it plays just fine, but I had an opportunity to test it before buying on a free weekend. Steam is not selling a nonfunctional product. peace.

I've finished it three times without any gamebreaking bug (having to re-enable VSync after each alt-tab isn't game breaking). Yeah, it's a totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. Q_Q

plus, it also helps to have an excellent NVIDIA graphics card and perform some minor tweaks in a few areas to iron out some of the technical issues.

As you didn't list your system specs, I'll assume they're to blame, as I've played through it several times with no problems. Did you think for a moment that it might be your fault?

I had and fixed an issue preventing it to launch. I only fell under the map once in my playthrough and hv not seen a bug otherwise. If the issue u hv isnt solved or posted by anyone on the internet, post it on a forum and ask for help, im sure some ppl would help u out.

I've had over 30 hours of gameplay and never encountered any issue. The bug days are over now. So buy, play and hope for the sequel or at least DLC.

There is texture popping which sucks ass. As for game breaking bugs? Nope.

If you look carefully, you'll see the same texturing popping in other recent games. Rage's is more noticable because of it's scale, but it's in Unreal tech games as well. Just as bad too.

Win 7 Pro x64, GTX560 2GB then GTX680 , i7 960, 24GB, Ran fine with both and no texture pop in.

If you run it on SSD there is no texture poping, i forced V-sync with nVidia drivers. The only problem i have is the sound when driving. This is a good game over all, wish they could redo it with the new Unreal 4 engine, it would rock!
