Game Crashes on First Loading Screen

I played this game for about two days until it just stopped working entirely. It would show the Streum logo and go to a loading screen where it would load and then crash saying that it was no longer responding i did many things that other people have suggested but no dice.

While I'm pretty sure you're already doing this, the only way that I have ever gotten past the loading screen is to have both hands off all parts of the computer while doing it. Any keystroke during the loading process can crash the game.

Try the following, just to find if it is related to your save.
Go to My Documents\streumon\eye\Save . Backup all of the files somewhere else and delete the original ones.
Then go to Go to steam\SteamApps\common\EYE\EYE\resource\vgui\save . Backup all of the files somewhere else and delete all the original ones except save_english.txt and save_french.txt.

Try to launch the game and see if it works.
If it does not work, do you use any firewall or antivirus

I've had the same problem but it disappeared after I uninstalled the local files and reinstalled the game

what helps me is going to documents/eye/save or in the steam files and find the text file with your characters name then adding in the following text if blank

PlayerName=yourcharacternamehere;m_iMyLevel=x

in my experience you dont have to have the exact level but i would advise trying to be close.

I did what Stu said and the game worked but i cant get retrieve my character, what to do????

Do what Rimster said, you should be able to get the character back.
