but i want
>Install Doom 3 in Steam
>Start the game
>Once the game has started, exit it
>Fire up regedit (Start->run type in regedit)
I do not have windows :)
and I have no desire to do so, but I'm willing to pay if linux-port released.
hm… and context, and resources, and … and I dont know its legal or not.
no. why can I just buy officialy linux-port (in steam)?
You want to say thet linux version alrady in steam?
Used this page:
http://anton.logvinenko.name/en/blog/how-to-play-doom-3-on-linux.html
If you bought Doom3 like me, through steam, and you pc is dual boot like mine.
Start steam on Windows, go to your library, right click on the Doom 3 icon, and click show cd key.
If you bought roe too, same thing.
Then you can use those keys on you Linux install.
It would have been allot easier, if I just could have done this, through steam.
Notice the link you put in the command line, but officially they don't support Linux.
Some of the tools are released though, that why that link is their.
There are also improved versions, but the above one already worked for me, but here is a link:

https://github.com/dhewm/dhewm3
This source code is already updated for newer pc's.
They helped me on an irc channel, and told me this.
Git clone whateverlink && cd dhewm3/neo && mkdir build && cd build && cmake .. && make && make install
