DOOM 3
Sikkmod 1.2 and Doom 3 not working
Anyone here currently playing Doom 3 with Sikkmod 1.3 and getting it to run successfully? I just bought D3 a few days ago as I wanted to play it again with Sikkmod. But some of the graphical features are creating artifacts. Only HDR, bloom and DoF work. Soft shadows, SSAO and motionblur cause horrendous graphical artifacts. Any ideas?

I get an error when loading the game up. I just dumped the sikkmod folder in my Doom 3 folder. The game also completely messes my screen up and I have to restart the computer to fix it

just installed d3 and will try sikkmod soon. i tell you if it works..

edit: where did you get a sikkmod 1.3?? the last version on the page is 1.2... maybe that is your problem. or your pc is just not good enough since sikk need much more power then vanilla d3...

you could check neuroboy´s d3-guide, but it is not much help for problems with mods...

edit2: i had the same problems...it´s just SSAO that causes problems afaik. the rest is working properly... check my screenshots for comparison.

Whoops 1.3 was a typo. Yes I mean sikkmod 1.2. Also yes the screen grab you took with SSAO on I get a very similiar artifact. I also get artifacts if I enable motionblur.
i reduced motion blur (to 8 samples) because it didn´t look good.
also check out the screens with color grading (?) on (realistic, darker) and off (colorful, brighter). i have to check out more options though. maybe i make a sikkmod-guide, since there are a lot of options that can suck up a lot of performance.

what error do you get, when you start d3? i start the mod directly with the parameter-setting in steam. you have to change some things in the config-file in the sikk-folder too.
@Neme5is

I don't get an error while playing the game, just the horrible artifacts when I have motionblur and SSAO turned on. My system is way more then enough to run the game as I have an i7 overclocked to 4.7ghz, 8gb RAM and a gtx780 OC. I will make a quick video and upload soon to show exactly what the probs are.
then just deactivate ssao... looks better then vanilla even without ssao.
I just got this video uploaded to youtube, I can show exactly what graphic errors are happening:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACeZ18EY5zc&feature=youtu.be
so what i see so far is that ssao is working for you...
but some things i saw...
dof+motion: deactivate it or lower the samples (no virtual samples, try 8)
softshadow: blur options maybe...
i don´t know if there is something to change about, but it looks like you have some kind of camera-overlay (reflection, dirt...) activated. there are some points (lens flare, etc.) that you could check too.

I'll have a bit more of a play around with the settings after work tonite.
i have to check them out again too. i have to say, i was a bit "shocked" about the amount of options in the mod. they could have been better documented with hints or so, what they actually do... but hey..we get better optics even without half of them, so i think i try out a bit and then just live with what i get. :)
I'm really wanting to get soft shadows working as this is one of the best features of the game but unfortunately am unable to get it working at the moment... :(
did you try changing the shadow option where "box" is? maybe try that. deactivate ssao and dof first.
Well, had a bit more of a play around and tried changing alot of the individual settings for motion blur and SSAO, but the weird artifacts still exist. But at the end of the day I've realised I'm not really gonna want motion blur anyways its too dis-orientating and SSAO isn't really nessessary for this game. HDR and DoF are enough plus I might try some POM mods with Doom.
yeah, motion-blur on the default setting is too much. try lowering the samples to 8. looks ok and works. dof fits not so good in d3 i think. the rooms are too small for the effect to work good or realistic. for screenshots though it´s perfect. but that and ssao are not really needed imho.

pom-mods?
POM - Parrallax Occlusion Mapping. Gives flat Surfaces the 3D geometry.
