[FIXED] Nvidia cards freezing/FPS drops
In the "Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config" to change the line in the file with XEngine.cfg "bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming=true" to "bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming=false"
Work for me

I'll try that right now, thanks.

Edit: Perfect. Loading times are at least doubled, but no more freezing in action, every game should use that system instead of those "on the fly" loadings.

Do you notice a differance to your game visually?

Didn't work for me, sadly. I'm currently running at GTX 680 and I still can't get past the launch into Columbia introduction section. This is even after turning off ambient occlusion / dynamic shadows and running everything on medium.

Mind you I can run the benchmark on ultra without dropping below 50 fps no problem. But actually playing the game? Well, that's another matter entirely.

Yes did not work for me either, it does seem to make things clearer maby its just me but it was very hard to see a differance. Like i said i am pretty sure things appered clearer so maby some effect that enhances visuals in the background (BackgroundLevelStreaming) is disabled.

Also one more note. The first two hours I played just after release there where no problems, but when I exited the game I decided to run it today with some launch commands. Standard stuff max mem and cpucount, you know the stuff. That seems to have caused theses problems for me. I removed them and still have the problems so this makes me uncertain if it is the cause of the problem or not, but it happened as soon as I used them.

Changing that line in my config did nothing for me either.
LorD Mar 26, 2013 @ 9:44am
this line fix freezing "in action", no in the load area
