Nvidia GTX660 binary Linux random crashes
I can run game. It's pretty sweet regarding performance.

But game crashes in what appears to be random crashes. So far I noticed that it may crash when there is a "cutscene". Since there is no save or autosave - it's really annoying.

About PC:

Gentoo Amd64 bit OS

32 gigs of DDR3, 1866, no overclock

Amd Vishera, no overclock

Nvidia GTX660 with binary driver. 2 Gigs of Ram

Asus mother board, which seems to work very stable with no crashes whatsoever with Borderlands 2 and Torchlight 2.

I didn't notice anything unusual in dmesg output. I can see process is hanged after game crashes. I can see dump file was created. Now, since my OS is not supported, I shall ask devs, do you wanna go ahead and troubleshoot it with me? If you say yes, than you will get a tech support person with experience in Linux to help you with this. I am willing to do this outside of this forum and I am willing to test other things with you too. Think about it and let me know please. I can do NDA if needed.


BTW, devs, did you have access to source code for this game? I am very curious.

After a crash, check out ~/.local/share/irrationalgames/bioshockinfinite/eon.txt for any related error messages.

When the game hangs, can you attach gdb to it, run an "info threads" and then backtrace on each thread ? Posting here is ok by me..

Well, I've got the same problem - game hanging mostly in cutscenes. OS: Lubuntu 14.10 64bit CPU: AMD FX-8320 GPU: nVidia GTX750Ti BE Drivers: 346.47 [url=http://pastebin.com/HrGey8TE] GDB attach output [/url] [url=http://pastebin.com/b3LCxQ9s] eON log file [/url] eON log file is cleaned out of "Ignoring motion" 1,8MB -> 10,4 kB o.O dmesg showed nothing. Besides this hanging/crushing, game plays smooth as it should.

I've got the same problem - ranodm crashes - at start and in playing game eON file: http://jpst.it/xynP OS: Linux Mint 17.1 64bit CPU AMD PHENOM II 1055T GFX Nvidia 440 - drivers 340.76 >> upgraded to 346.47 (still crashes) Ram: 16GB
